Here's the colchicums I have in bloom, all photographed today. Labels have long since evaporated. If any are incorrectly named alternative suggestions would be appreciated. Colchicum autumnale - two large patches, in shade. Jane, many thanks for your suggestion to transplant right now and remove flowers as they are settled into place. Perhaps I'll do one patch now and the other next year. Colchicum autumnale 'Album' - only 5. Will need to think about this - move now or move later. Hmm. Decisions, decisions. Colchicum bournmuelleri - yes they need to be divided but there's just too much to do. Next summer, for these and the other patches of it. Colchicum x aggripinum - I am very fond of this and it is doing well. Probably should be divided. Next summer . . . Colchicum autumnale? - this is in more sun. Does that explain the deeper color than those in the shade? If yes, even more reason to transplant the poor shadows of what they should be.
