Lerps are a type of scale or a scale-like covering for baby psyllids. They are a tiny circle with a pointy middle. Reminds me of a clam shell.
From the research I did, I found they are common on Eucalyptis. I seem to remember that the covering is made of
honeydew and wax and are sometimes used as food by people. These insects suck the life out of plants.
