Dear Members living in the EU

The Donation for the next EU-BX and SX is now open. Please send your
material to Martin Bohnet, Ludwigstr. 1, 73035 Göppingen, Germany

Some information concerning this new exchange, please read the entire
mail: Martin and myself discussed the procedure for this autumn and we
decided to offer two Exchanges. One in the near future and another one
towards the end of October, the second date will be announced again.
Both exchanges are open for bulbs AND seed. This way we take the strange
weather in Europe into account. Some bulbs seem to be starting very
early this year in the northern countries and some seed is ripening much
later than usual whereas excessive heat stops everything in the South.
This time the donation period will be open for a long time, only closing
with the second exchange. This way the slow postal service from southern
European countries will not matter, the material which does not make it
to the first exchange will be included in the second one. However,
please send your material as soon as you can. Frost damage in the mail
is not likely before mid November.

And Please let Martin know <garak@code-garak.de> that you posted a
donation.

As stated a few days ago, we offer a new service to donors: If you are
willing to pre-pack about 5 portions of seed per type you can request a
corresponding number of  free seed envelopes from Martin. You are not
obliged to pre pack but it is a tremendous help for Martin. If you have
more seed to donate than 5 portions you can include it in an extra big
portion as well. It is often difficult to foresee demand and Martin will
pack extra portions from this reserve if necessary.

The bonus scheme has also been changed: The flat rate 5 US$ bonus for
donors no longer exists. It has been replaced by a credit you will get
for your donation. This credit equals the postage you paid for sending
the material to Martin. Some members have paid a lot for postage and
were not adequately rewarded by the flat rate bonus. Please let Martin
know how much you paid for postage when you send him the email that your
donation is on its way. This credit can be used for your own order, or
to  pay for your membership or pay for a gift membership for a friend.
It can also be accumulated or donated to the PBS and will not expire.

All the general rules apply unchanged: please do only send healthy and
clean material without pests, soil, dry leaves and the like. Please
label each item as clearly as you can with its scientific name and your
own name so that your donation can be listed accordingly. You would have
to be a fully paid member to be entitled to order from the EU BX/SX but
you do not need to be a donor.

We very much regret that we cannot accept donations from outside the EU
and not from the UK. The involved paperwork and expense is prohibitive.

Please do not hesitate to contact me in case of questions

Uli
