We had a community based LISTSERV on Yahoo for years and saw the end coming. We have a board of Moderators and two of them are computer science Profs. at Columbia University. We moved our group which has about 1300 members over to Groups.io. Here is the link so you can have a look. https://groups.io/g/LeoniaTalks/ I believe the fellow that ran the Yahoo groups left and started groups.io. We have been very happy with it. We were able to transfer all the archives and members info over. There are different levels of service available some at a cost. I suspect a separate E-mail list could be implemented under the current PBS site, but who would do it? It would probably take just as much work as the current list. Again, speaking only for myself, it appears to me the decision has been made the PBS discussion list will be a generalist discussion list.
