Images have to be sent as attachments not inline. You can Google how to make your mail program do attachments. Supposedly PBS is moving to a web based forum, so there's little point anyone busting a gut sorting out the 'list. Other lists running mailman allow html posts which gets rid of this problem, but has side effects, loads of scrubbed files for the graphics some people like to decorate their emails with.
