Dear PBS Friends, Not often that a completely new genus of plants is discovered, described and named, but here’s a new bulb Shoubiaonia yunnanensis. (https://novataxa.blogspot.com/2021/07/… Although this paper suggests a link to the genus Lycoris, Shoubiaonia it is quite distinct and different. It is a subtropical plant that may be suited to the mildest parts of the US or frost free culture. I don’t think it is in cultivation in the US. Any thoughts?
