monocot seedlings without chlorophyll

I very rarely see that. Because it happened to two different species at 
the same time, I would suspect some unusual environmental condition. 
Maybe a unintentional chemical treatment or irradiation of some kind. 
Live in an industrial area or have a cell tower above your house? 
(mostly joking, lol)
