Sorry Chad. I was directly quoting Duncan. So add 6 months to the dates I indicated. 
I think a side by side picture may be helpful. Hopefully there’s someone on the list that has both. 
I have another coming along but it is looking like a few weeks behind.

Now you have me guessing about which one I have. I’m curious why yours is blooming in January if both typically bloom in June? Based on early versus late flowering it sounds like yours might be aloides and mine might be aloides v. quadricolor. Here is a picture of mine.
