 Hi Erika,
Thank you.  Yours should be mature enough to bloom ... if you have them in a large enough container (or the ground, in a greenhouse.)  IMO, they like to put out an extensive root system, which probably promotes earlier bloom. I had to move a couple of mine for a City sewer replacement, and found finger-width roots spreading in all directions 5-6+ feet/2m.  I've had mine bloom as early as 4 years, but 5-7 is more typical ... in the ground.  Minimum 5-gallon/20-litre container, but a half whiskey barrel would be better. I think they like a good supply of well rotted manure ... but not touching the bulb.  In fact, I set my bulbs in 4-8 inches of non-organic decomposed granite ... their roots can reach down to the organic material.
I'm originally from Michigan with many relatives in the London/Chatham area as well as in the States, and spent most of my childhood Summers on the Bruce Peninsula!

 Hi Ken,

Fantastic flowers on the Boophone. How many years did it take before flowering for you?

Mine is now 9 years old from seed which was collected from the Summer rainfall region of South Africa. It never completely looses it leaves and has new growth starting now with the leaves from last year slowly dying back.

A beautiful sunny day here 21C.
