Tulipa sylvestris

I have had decent results growing Tulipa sylvestris in heavy clay in North Carolina. The bulbs were purchased from Brent and Becky’s Bulbs in 2017 and have flowered every year since (they’re currently in bloom). To my disappointment, they haven’t shown any inclination to spread by stolons, but I don’t know whether that’s due the density of the soil or is a genetic characteristic of the bulbs I purchased.
