Gophers!

Apparently the local gophers like tangy things. They just ate (the bulbs
under) half a dozen big clumps of Oxalis purpurea, as well as all the
Oxalis obtusa that I didn't have in pots set in the ground. They also
browsed the tops of a California poppy (and at least some of the roots).

At least they haven't cultivated a taste for geophyte aroids.

Anyway, feeding stations set up in tunnels with a banquet of the three
flavors of gopher treats I have.

Argh.

slightly moist.
