Gophers!

Gophers have a particular taste for Lilium (true lilies) too. One 
destroyed a whole planting of Oriental lilies at my former garden. Then 
one of my Malamutes pounced over the tunnel, caught the gopher, and ate 
it, while I stood by saying "Good dog!"
