Wachendorfia question

Hi Uli,

I’ve grown and bloomed this species outdoors for years in Portland, Oregon without any difficulty. I have some in a sunny area that does run a bit on the dry side in summer, but I also have several plants in pots that sit in watering trays in the driveway. In habitat they do usually have wet roots, but the air around them is very dry in summer. This leads me to wonder if excess heat and humidity may have lead to the demise of your plants, either directly, or as the result of an opportunistic infection.

Charles

Seed was sown in autumn, germinated very well and the young plants grew on nicely after separating and potting on in threes or fours. I did not want to separate them entirely in order to avoid too much root disturbance.
