Dear All, We have used this email list to communicate within the membership for a long time and many call this list a forum. Let's not get confused about the terminology...... Personally I have grown up computer-wise and email-wise with the email lists of the Pacific Bulb Society and its predecessor the International Bulb Society. I still remember how proud I was when I managed to post my first email about Lilium species and even got an instant reply! I love this way of communicating since. But...... time is running fast. Even to me who is not a computer freak, it dawns that this beloved email list is no longer up to date and needs to be replaced by something more efficient. We have discussed this for a long time in the board of directors, knowing that there are more people like me who would like to cling to the beloved old ways and who are scared of something new. I will certainly be amongst those who will need help.... The smiles on the faces of young plant lovers have not escaped me when I mention our way of communicating. If we want to stay alive as a society we must attract the young generation. But we must at the same time take care not to end up in a superficial kind of "pseudo-communication". So we decided in a long and careful process to change to a web based forum like the Scottish Rock Garden Club has been using successfully for quite some time.
