Pollinating waterlily

Hi Uli,
Stigmatic fluid is the correct name. This is the liquid present on
the first day the waterlily is open and receptive to pollen ( this is the
female stage of the bloom) . I collect this fluid to which I add the pollen
of another flower (two day old bloom when it becomes male and shedding
pollen). I use this cocktail to pollinate the waterlily of choice. This is
the way to cross pollinate them and obtain new hybrids. This is so
fascinating about the water lily flowers. The same bloom is female for one
day and then it changes into male the next day.
