Living in the UK I only came across these with my interest in alpines, many years ago. So what has it got 12 of? Most people I have known think it looks like a cyclamen initially; until you look at the leaves of course. Wild primroses are (were) all yellow here. Snowdrop time UK, Brian Whyer I was disappointed when these became Primulas, but I guess I could continue to call them shooting stars. Or refer to them as Dodecatheon with their author.
