We were privileged to be close to John for many years. We often visited his place on Tuolumne Drive and usually were gifted one of his plants for our garden most of which are still there. Unfortunately we were not the growers he was so some didn't do well... Our club, which John was a founder, is having a show and sale next week and we will dedicate it to him. <SBCCS.org> He was as close as anyone I know who was a walking encyclopedia of the plant kingdom.
