Amarine dormancy

My experience with bulbs in the Amaryllis family that could be growing
in the winter or the summer depending on the origin of the seed  that I
have grown from seed without knowing which schedule they should be on
(like Boophone disticha) has been that they will decide when they want
to grow and even when I've tried to make them grow at the time I want
them to grow they revert to the schedule they want.  Not all Nerines are
winter dormant. Some are almost evergreen and there are a few that grow
in winter.  If you knew which Nerine it might help. You might try
watering them and then watch to see what happens. In the case of my
Boophone it gets rained on in winter when I want it to be growing and
stays dormant and the leaves come up in summer when it wants to grow so
I've started watering it in summer so it gets year round moisture. The
Paramongaia adjusted itself to the time it wanted to be growing as well
and the same with bulbs that came from the Southern Hemisphere. Good luck.
