Thanks for forwarding the message, Lindsey. I replied to him.

I do have G. aureus in my collection, thanks to Ernie DeMarie and ultimately
seed distributions from Kirstenbosch back when they did such things.

It's pretty easy to grow here in San Jose. Very sad to hear that it's
apparently extinct in the wild. From what I had read, it was not in a
well-protected place.

I'd be interested to know who else has it. Maybe we could all share seeds to
increase the genetic diversity of our collections...
