Acoraceae

The Acoraceae, once considered a subfamily of the Araceae, is the sole family in the order Acorales. The family contains a single genus, Acorus. This genus differs from the aroids by having a spadix with no spathe. For an interesting discussion on monocots and the Acoraceae, visit this page.
