Allium 'Sugar Melt' was bred by Mark McDonough. It is a rhizomatous hybrid between Allium nutans and Allium senescens. It grows to roughly 12" and flowers late Summer to Autumn. The plants like moist conditions that do not dry out too much in the Summer. From Mark McDonough: "It's an Allium senescens glaucum, green foliage instead of gray, taller (but still compact), and bountiful hemispheres of pink with yellow stamens, and of course rather late blooming."
