Cactaceae

Cactaceae is a family comprising about 127 genera with some 1750 known species of plants that often are found in extremely dry environments. Most are succulents without leaves having instead spines that help prevent water loss. They are mostly native to the Americas. Echinocereus and Peniocereus are species with tuberous roots found on the wiki.

All trade with Cactaceae is subject to CITES regulations.
