Pseudoprospero is a new genus in the proposed split of Scilla with only one species, Pseudoprospero firmifolium, syn. Scilla firmifolia. It is a member of the Hyacinthaceae family. This species is instantly recognisable in frequently having a side branch on the flower scape and is summer-growing. It is native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
