Xeronemataceae

Xeronemataceae is a small family erected in 2000. It is most closely related to the family Iridaceae and the Xanthorrhoeaceae/Asphodelaceae/Hemerocallidaceae complex. It consists of only one genus and two species endemic to a few islands in New Zealand and New Caledonia. Plants are herbaceous with leathery leaves and spread by rhizome. Flowers are set on terminal spikes, with highly exerted and persistent stamens towering above the flowers. All parts of the flowers are red or orange-red.

We have the genus Xeronema represented on the wiki.
