In my decades of commercial cutting production, disinfesting dips were done after cutting preparation just prior to hormone treatment. Bleach has a very short half-life once in contact with debris (dirt), so we used Zerotol, a hydrogen peroxide (I think it has three oxygen by memory.) It has the further advantage that any solution carried over into the flask decomposes fairly fast. Typically the 3% antiseptic solution right out of the bottle from your favorite store is what is called for.
