Kevin Preuss asked about germinating Yucca seeds.

In my experience, these germinate very readily when planted in ordinary
seed compost in outdoor conditions in winter or spring. Because even the
southeastern ones grow in well-drained soils, floating them would probably
harm the seeds. I have raised many plants of the western species from seed.
