At last spring's IBS symposium here in California, I asked the two guys from Hadeco about Daubenya, and if they ever planned to export bulbs of it to the U.S. like they do with Hippeastrum hybrids. They indicated (and maybe I misunderstood them) that it was too difficult to convert hemisphere's for Daubenya aurea to make it worth their while. However, apparently, as Robin says, they sell them widely throughout South Africa in both the red and the yellow forms. Is anyone going to be there during their next autumn who would be willing to bring back a bunch of them to sell to us?
