Dear Cathy et al:
A Macadamia indicates you have lots of heat in your zone.
Ipheion uniflorum will only grow in full sun. If the spot receives enough
sun, dig some crushed rock in to improve drainage or raise the bed. A very
successful method is to plant the bulbs in a big pot and then bury the pot
to the rim close to a tree or shrub and this will prevent most of the tree
roots competition. Ipheion uniflorum will demand some summer water (while
dormant) or its perennial roots will die.
Regards
Alberto
