Anemone seed

Anemone seed is ripe well before it looks to be so. With the anemones that
have achenes such as blanda and nemorosa, we just gently touch them and if
they come off without much pressure, they are ready to harvest (and sow),
even though they look green. This is also true with Hepatica and Anemonella.
If one waits, generally it is too late and the seed is lost on the ground.

It is not so critical with the anemones that have fuzzy or fluffy seeds
(very technical jargon here, I know), since they hang around a while :-)
