Hi Mary Sue:
Mexico has a huge number of bulbous plants. There are several
Sprekelias there including the dwarf one we had grown years ago as S.
clintiae. During the 1989 Irivine IBS Symposium Thad Howard showed slides of
several unpublished Sprekelias including one a deep vermillion with a white
edge. All are easy to grow in well drained alkaline soil, very dry winter
dormant.
