Hi all,

  Nerine filifolia is now starting to bloom on my deck. See an older image at:
http://shieldsgardens.com/amaryllids/…

Nerine filifolia: Leaves 2 mm wide and (on my plants) up to 460 mm long;
about 5 to 7 leaves. Flowers just now opening, ca. 43 mm across the face,
petals up to 3-4 mm wide, ruffled. Peduncle covered with short hairs, ca.
3 mm thick by 350 mm, possibly up to 400 mm tall; pedicels up to 35-40 mm
long in bloom; longer after flowers fade.

It's a great pot plant for the patio or deck in USDA zone 5, etc. It should
be much commoner in cultivation, but is only hardy to USDA zone 8, maybe 7.

where it has finally cooled off a bit and we got rain last night -- but
only 0.05 inches.
