This bulb, one of the easiest to grow, has been in bloom here for many weeks
this spring. The color is bright red. Today, I noticed a young plant in
bloom with a buff-orange color. It's attractive. How often do we get color
variants with this species. I've grown it for years and it pops up here and
there slowly forming handsome clumps, but this is the first time I've seen a
color variant. Delighted!
