Ina,

I'd suggest you go for 4 to 5 years in the same pot.  Repotting Haemanthus 
seedlings in the second year resulted in bulbs that grew very slowly and 
took 10-12 years to bloom.

Now I plant most South African amaryllid seeds one to a pot and leave it 
there for 5 years or until it has bloomed.
