Mark et al, Having, myself, a few (nearly) thankless volunteer positions with local hobbyist societies that can overwhelm at times, I sympathize with Dell's obvious exasperation as I also marvel at the *enormous* amount of work administering the BX must be (and hence that he hasn't already told us to collectively bug-off many times). Even harried volunteers, however, are usually willing to respond to brief, polite inquiries - and those that start with a pre-emptive thanks for the recipients' efforts will be best received and most likely replied to ;-). I'm sure your inquiry was only meant to express concern about your order(s) - but such an inquiry might be less likely to be interpreted as unappreciative criticism if you contacted Steve Marak and/or Dell privately rather than complaining to the list.
