Hi Diane, I would say the plant is not A shawii, because the photo shows exposed bulbs (A shawii bulbs are completely underground and also are flatter than the species shown) and too many leaves per bulb for A shawii. Looks like one of the mainly winter growing short ones like A sp Augrabie Hills.
