Proofreader wanted

I've just finished working on Version 2 of "Hippeastrum in Bolivia,"
which PBS has agreed to publish, and I would like someone else to
proofread it. My typing has become unreliable owing to arthritic
fingers, and I can't use spell check on this ms. because of the vast
number of unusual words and herbarium record citations, among other
peculiarities.

The text is 190 pp. long but that includes tables and figures. Much of
it is technical descriptions that have already been proofread in version 1.

I would need someone who can return it reasonably quickly. She or he
would need a very sharp eye. The proofreader is not to edit the text,
even if it seems awkward and repetitive at times, or if the terminology
is rather old-fashioned, because the author has forbidden any more
changes. I'm sick of it and refuse to argue or go back to the authors
with questions. However, if you are used to using the "comment" function
in Word, you can add marginal comments if you think some text has been
dropped, for instance.

Please WRITE TO ME DIRECTLY, DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS VIA THE LIST.

Thanks in advance,

Jane McGary
