This is probably going to get me in trouble, but I will mention that if you have a pest animal in a live trap, the easiest way to kill it is to submerge it, trap and all, in deep water. Jane McGary, Portland, Oregon, USA Jane I'm with you on that. I have mouse issues (I live in an old place), funny considering all the cats that live next door. You set that mouse free and he / she goes out and invites the whole family back. They tell two friends and so on and so on.... I can't deal with the spring-loaded traps, so live traps and there is a handy bucket of water outside on the porch. After 27 mice in one month I'm a bit desensitized. This past spring was a challenge starting seeds indoors, had an elusive mouse that kept chowing down on my seedlings. I believe that is also what killed my Cryptostephanus. Battle!!
