To respond to Sylvia's concerns about BX/SX shipping. Books are not seeds or bulbs, which makes things somewhat easier. We have over the years streamlined the mailing process. I think for me the most important part of having an actual exchange is the opportunity, in one place (the announcement of an upcoming exchange) to acquire things more easily than piece-mealing together items offered by individuals. I don't have time to do that so an exchange is far less time-consuming from my point of view, and, as I said, we've tried to streamline the process all around and will continue to do so. However, we're taking our time so that we choose the best way to do things for PBS members. Our exchange procedures may not work for another organization. Occasionally some plants or seeds are offered by some individuals under specific circumstances and that will continue but for the majority of us, the exchange is the best way at this time.
