When no response to emails for the Exchange

Some suggestions for those of you who have no response to emails requesting
seeds, etc. First, are you a current member? If you don't know or can't
remember, contact our Membership Secretary. Second, always check your spam
folder. Third, if you receive no response after trying once or twice, go to
the PBS website and attempt to contact Luminita Vollmer through the email
addresses for her listed there. A few members with problems reaching
Luminita have resorted to going through the website and she has received
them right away. As a last resort, contact me or Arnold Trachtenberg.

It's also important to make sure your full name is on correspondence. One
issue I've run into is that your email address shows up, but that email
address may not match your name. For example, if your partner's name is used
but that person is not a member. It is possible to set up or change your
email addresses to show your name followed by the actual address and I
always recommend doing this to avoid confusion, for example: R Hansen
(bulbnut@hansennursery.com).

Furthermore, if you have more than one email address, please consistently
use the same address for PBS. Also be sure we have both your current mailing
and e-mail addresses.

Another point is that the mailing software we use - stamps.com - allows us
to track packages to any country, so you can request that information from
Luminita or Arnold. However, once the package leaves our hands, we cannot
take responsibility for it because we have no control whatever over mail
outside the US, BUT let us know the package is missing. Sometimes packages
are taking 1-3 months (yes, months) to arrive. If a package does not arrive,
you are not responsible for payment. At the same time, our software does
show when it has been delivered.

I hope these tips will help you sort out any snafus. The most essential
step, however, is to follow up immediately when you have a problem. The more
quickly you let someone know, the more likely we are to solve the problem in
a timely manner.

Best regards,
