An example of Jim’s generosity: In 2009 he gave me a young Lilium iridollae, a stoloniferous American lily that was scarcely in cultivation at the time. It descended from a wild collection by Bill McLaughlin, curator of plants at the US National Botanical Garden. A couple of photographs are attached, the first from April 2009, the second from July 2011.
