Growing Hippeastrum hybrids

Hello everyone,
I agree, we need a more in-depth care guide for Hippeastrum species. While the recent book "Hippeastrum in Bolivia" offers good information on their habitat and how the plant looks like, I think there is a lot missing in the care department. I am growing myself a tons of species and I did not figure it out yet what each likes. Just started to collect them a few years ago and it is still a learning process.
The book from Veronica is spot on on care. I also believe the tips given on emaryllis.com are good. And not to brag about it, but your acquaintance Leo can check out my YouTube tutorial on aftercare https://youtu.be/ulEpQ_jc11o/. If she or he is on Facebook, I can share a bunch of materials I have written. Yes on Hippeasturm care, from pots and planting medium, to fertilizing and growing it from seed. Let me know and I will gladly share them.
Have a lovely week,

There are any number of articles on how to care for Hippeastrum hybrids,
amaryllis as people usually call them, across the Internet. I read a number
of them recently, as well as the advice in Veronica Read's Hippeastrum book
and in the older Amaryllis Manual by Hamilton Traub, one of the botanists
who studied and cultivated Hippeastrum.  I don't know if Pacific Bulb
Society's Wiki would necessarily have any greater insight than anything
someone might find by googling "amaryllis care" or "how to rebloom a
hippeastrum hybrid".

However, one thing I would really like to see is a more up-to-date catalog
of Hippeastrum species. There are some that are just missing from the lists
on the Wiki. As many of us have by now read the beautiful PBS publication
"Hippeastrum in Bolivia" and maybe gotten interested in these species, it's
apparent that many of the species covered in the book are missing from the
Wiki.  There are also missing species from Brazil, Argentina and elsewhere.
Some of the ones that are missing are aviflorum, brasilianum, cardenasii,
cipoanum, curitibanum, capoulicanense, chionydanthum, divijuliani,
doraniae, escobaruirae, fragrantissimum, fosteri, goianum, haywardii,
incachacanum, lapacense, leucobasis, lunaris, mariani-savielloi, menesesii,
mollevillquense, morelianum, nelsoni, pampeanum, pardinum, paquichanum,
ramboi, starkiorum, stylosum, variegatum, umabisanum... and other more rare
and maybe doubtful ones.
