You can trust Komoriya Nursery very much. They’ve been around for ages, and Komoriya himself (if he’s still alive) was as big a plant nut as any of us are, and for a long while was pretty much the only big rare bulb hobbyist—with a nursery—in Japan when hardly anyone else was. I was first introduced to his nursery back in the late ‘90s when I visited some plant friends there while working on a work project in Japan. I hand imported a couple of Hippeastrums back then. (My favorite, Yume Mitai, luckily is still alive even though I was so inexperienced back then.) They used to print a full color glossy annual catalog (in Japanese), and he made many of the hybrid crosses they now sell. (He also has made numerous Lachenalia hybrid crosses, some of which are quite amazing in appearance.) Back in the day he used to sell some very rare, very desirable species bulbs like Worsleya procera and Ismene amancaes among others. They know how to handle the phytosanitary inspection and certificate and the US plant import permit and label. What I don’t know is how the new tariffs will affect things and how one goes about paying them, especially since they’ve removed all the duty-free de minimus import exemptions (for low-value purchases). --Lee Poulsen San Gabriel Valley, California, USA - USDA Zone 10a Latitude 34°N, Altitude 340 ft/100 m > On Apr 23, 2025, at 15:47, Dennis Kramb via pbs <pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net> wrote: > > I love this bulb I found on eBay but I'm too nervous to try importing it. > Hippeastrum cv.
