Salt tolerant bulbs

Hello, Luis,

The talk I mentioned is not online, sorry.

There are several Alstroemeria species in Peru, so perhaps one of them
would tolerate your region. If at some time you visit Chile and go to
Valparaiso, there is a small town north of there called Pichidangui, and
a beach below the coastal street there is covered with A. pelegrina (and
many other good plants), growing in rocks where the waves reach. Another
Chilean plant that grows very close to the ocean is Rhodophiala
bagnoldii; it emerges and flowers only in wet years, as when El Ni~no
occurs.

Best regards,

Jane
