The Pacific Bulb Society, Inc. (PBS) is a registered non-profit corporation in the state of California, No.
3736762. The Society’s Treasurer maintains this registration, and a registered agent represents the
corporation in California, as required by the California Secretary of State. A registered agent is required
to be located in the state in which the society is incorporated.
Federally, PBS is also recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, EIN 47-2708584. As is typical of
501(c)3 non-profit corporations, PBS is organized exclusively as an educational, charitable and scientific
society. PBS exists to promote communication among people interested in bulbs, to promote the
exchange of geophyte materials (seeds, bulbs, pollen) and to encourage continued learning and
research.
As part of our responsibilities as a non-profit, PBS maintains a website, including a wiki (basically an
encyclopedia of all things bulb), a discussion list, and a web-based forum where members and non-
members communicate on many topics, and where photos are shared. PBS also makes grants for
educational purposes, supporting research into bulbous species.
Donations to the Pacific Bulb Society are acknowledged by letter and refer to our federal EIN: 47-
2708584.
