Dear PBS Members

As many of you know we have increased the level of member services the last year to include many more BX and SX offerings.

Our two relatively new Board of director members, Jan and Bridget have done a great job and deserve much credit.

It's a thankless job at times but the rewards  are seen when hard to find seeds and bulbs land in our mail boxes.

I am writing to remind all of those who have enjoyed the distributions.

Please play catch up and pay those outstanding payments and at the same time you can renew your membership for 2023.

Due paid now will qualify for a full 2023 membership

This will avoid the need to send out all those post card reminders.

Hope the coming season is full of flowers for everyone.

We will have  four extra copies if no one reaches out with a problem.

I'm searching in this time for seeds of Ipomoea quamoclit ...I try it since many years but until now without success
Some seed sellers offer it ...but they are always wrong named

That's the hybrid ( it is easy to get – Ipomoea x multifida ...it runs also under Ipomoea x sloteri ) ...this plant I have

The final box of Gladioli books has arrived and I will be sending them out in the next few days.

I was posted from South Africa on Jan. 10, 2022 and sat in a warehouse until a ship was released from SA a couple of weeks ago.

I've been repotting all the winter active bulbs outside to keep the marital bliss in my household.

I took a break for a bit of lunch and see I've gained an assistant.  Glad he's watching over the discarded potting soil so well.

His name is "Speck" for the tiny speck of color on his face.  He's one of two feral cats we feed and encourage to hang around.  Keeps the squirrels and others away from plants.

Here's Stenomesson variegatum  Also known as Clinanthus vareigatum.

I noticed at the base of the  stamens which are fused into a ring with  green projections.  Beyond my knowledge of flower morphology.

We have a couple of BX/SX in the pipeline.

We also have a fair number of outstanding payments due for past BX/SX's.

If you received seeds or bulbs it would be a good time to catch up on payments and not miss future offerings.

A bulbous plant.  But not a monocot.
