Arnold,

I am amazed to see a four years old plant that size. Is it close to flowering size I suppose?
Now, the problem. I am growing this species from seed too and the seedlings (1 yr) are abt 1" (2,5cm).
They are in tall and narrow pots, as they have a big root system, in a sandy soil. In spite of the watering they are going dormant now, but I read it is mainly summer growing. At this point I am stopping waterings and leave them to do what they want. Here we are over 30°C and the last week over 35°C and doesn't rain from a month. I think this is another of those South African species that are fully winter growing here, like Crinum moorei, Zantedeschia aethiopica, Freesia alba. Also my Veltheimia are dormant from some weeks.
