Iris brevicaulis is blooming in the garden this week, so I've added an image
to the wiki. Please take a look at:

This species has big flowers on low stems and is an interesting addition to
the border. Here it blooms with the Japanese irises, which makes it one of
the later blooming irises. In my experience this is a tough, tolerant,
easily grown plant which seems to grow well in ordinary garden soil without
additional moisture.
