With reference to the remarks of Canadian members who cannot order from the US: When the EU tightened its legislation concerning the import of plant material and seed from countries outside the EU, I very quickly found myself in the frustrating situation not to be able to order from the Seed exchange any longer. Ordering bulbs from the BX had already stopped before. So I contacted some European members and discussed with them if an EU exchange would be possible and viable. Martin was one of those members who agreed to do the logistics. And there was very constructive backing from the PBS board from the beginning on The new EU BX was and is a success although Brexit was a slap in the face as we lost many supporters. I don’t know how many members of PBS you are in Canada, it might probably not be enough to start a full bulb and seed exchange for Canada only. For that it needs a good number of reliable donors. But group orders are a different matter and can be done with just a handful of people or even less. I do encourage you to ask around and see what the potential is. It would need one or two persons who take matters in hand and organize and handle the order. I am more than happy to give you all the necessary information, especially about looming stumbling stones. These group orders could be coordinated and timed with the US and EU membership in order to get better conditions from the seller. The simplest kind of group order and a start could be that Canadian members bundle their orders from the US exchange in order to save on the outrageous postage and then re-distribute within Canada. Happy to discuss further Uli _______________________________________________ pbs mailing list pbs@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net https://lists.pacificbulbsociety.net/cgi-bin/… Unsubscribe: <mailto:pbs-unsubscribe@lists.pacificbulbsociety.net> PBS Forum https://…
