About 12 years ago I had a bad experience with my juvenile Hippeastrum seedlings getting infested with some kind of bulb fly maggots that nearly killed them all. Ever since then I keep them all indoors year round in an east-facing window that gets full sun only until 11am. But they're also under artificial lights too. My Hippeastrums bloom but the Sprekelia hasn't.
