The issue of lights for plant illumination is very complicated.  i bought these from Amazon.  I use them to augment natural light in my greenhouse.  Easy to install.

Hi Uli

Maybe your olfactory organ is not up to snuff?

Once the foliage yellows I take this as a sign the bulb is dormant.  My SA bulbs spend their summers in a cool basement.  Completely dry for the summer.  The basement is a bit damp as are most here in the NE during summers.

I have emailed everyone who participated in the USA SA group bulb order.  If you ordered and haven't received a note please email me at arnold140@verizon.net

Thanks,

PBS Members Affairs / Re: BX arrears

It's been weeks since the last BX and SX were distributed.

There are a number of outstanding payments due by members.

If you are in doubt please contact me to check on your account.

Arnold140@verizon.net

Being in arrears can effect access to future SX/BX distributions and participation in future SA group orders.

Thank you,

One of my favorites.  Has lovely scent, has increased and is the last of the season for the SA bulbs.

Thanks CG100

I think we know that my light levels here in the NE USA are low compared to the natural setting of my SA plants.

It's made a great deal of a difference adding a 8 foot strip of a LED fixture over the plant area  with some red diodes included.

It's worked so far.

I've read that you can use the light meter in a good camera to measure light source using a grey card.

Have you seen or heard of this?

Thanks,

I originally had the lights on into the evening.   After talking to a couple of other growers I just have them on during daylight hours to augment the natural light.

Plants need a dark period to finish their metabolic cycle

You're growing area is outside and you want to add lights there?

I use this site to get an idea of light levels in an area where the bulbs originate.

https://www.gaisma.com/en/

You look at the parameter of "insolation".

I've added some LED's to my growing area with good results in terms of growth and flowering.

Duncan states that L. multiflora is marzipan scented.

Any scent?
